How much does the Niagara boat ride cost?

Two adults budget sixty dollars for the boat, arrive, and leave having spent close to a hundred and forty. Nothing about that is a scam. It is simply that the fare covers one twenty-minute ride and a day at Niagara is not a twenty-minute event.

How much is a Niagara Falls boat tour ticket?

Maid of the Mist is US$30.25 for an adult, US$19.75 for ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under. Niagara City Cruises is CA$47.95 for an adult, CA$32.95 for ages 3 to 12, and free for children 2 and under. Both figures are the operators' own published 2026 fares.

The gap looks larger than it is, because the two prices are in different currencies. At any recent exchange rate the American ticket is still meaningfully cheaper, but it is not the near-double the raw digits suggest.

Fares come from maidofthemist.com and Niagara Parks, both for the 2026 season. Neither operator sells a discounted "boat only" tier below these prices, so any listing offering one is bundling something else or quoting an old figure.

What does the boat ticket not include?

Parking on either side, the paired attraction on each bank, food, and the Rainbow Bridge toll if you walk between countries. Cave of the Winds in New York and Journey Behind the Falls in Ontario are separate tickets, not add-ons to the cruise.

This is where the budget actually goes.

Park entry itself is not the cost people expect it to be. Walking into Niagara Falls State Park is free; it is the car that costs money. The same is broadly true on the Ontario side, where the promenade is open and the parking is not.

Is a bundled tour cheaper than buying tickets separately?

Often it lands close, and occasionally it is genuinely cheaper once parking and transfers are counted. A bundle is rarely a discount on the boat itself. What it removes is three separate queues, three separate payments, and the parking problem.

Compare like for like. A New York morning bought piecemeal is the boat, Cave of the Winds, the Observation Tower and a parking space. A bundled tour of the same three attractions with hotel pickup replaces the parking cost entirely and hands you one price with the admissions inside it.

In both cases the maths is simple: a pass is worth it if you will do at least three of the things inside it, and a waste if you are there for the boat and nothing else.

What to be careful about is the third-party coupon layer. A large volume of search traffic goes to discount and coupon pages for these boats, and much of it lands on resellers quoting stale prices or selling passes you will not use. If a price looks meaningfully below US$30.25 or CA$47.95 for the boat alone, it is not the boat alone.

Which side is cheaper for your group?

For two adults doing one side properly, budget the boat plus the paired attraction plus parking. For two adults doing both sides, add the bridge toll in each direction and a second parking charge, or drop the car entirely and take a tour that handles the crossing.
